[There's a really good question that Peter needs to ask himself. What bad guy hit him hard enough to knock him out and throw him all the way into Central Park? Trees and grass shouldn't have hurt so hard to make his back hurt. Okay, maybe trees. But still, it wasn't like he was slammed into another brick wall. No, it was just a really dense looking forest that definitely didn't look like it would be Central Park. That's weird. Maybe Mysterio had something to do with this. Not sure how the guy could get the jump on him like this, though.

But it seemed like he was at least hit hard enough that his clothes were knocked off. How can you even hit a guy in a skin tight costume that hard? Well, it explains how he would have gotten to a place with a ton of trees. Not good. He might actually be injured now--

[After figuring some things out and realizing that the journal actually... talks, Peter can be seen walking into the village while wearing the New Feather pants. While wandering aimlessly and looking worried, he's flipping through his journal until he figures out how to use it.]

This on? [Seems like it.] Quick show of hands. Who else is creeped out by the talking book?

[Yeah. Let's keep wandering around this weird village until someone helps him, or he finds someone he recognizes. He hope everyone is alright.]

Republic City's pretty loud itself between the Satomobiles, factories, and airships. It's hard to picture something even more noisy.

Satomobiles? [Are those like automobiles?]

One of the two major brands of automobiles in the city... the other one's Cabbage Cars, produced by Cabbage Corp. Satomobiles are all around much higher quality though.

Peter can't help but laugh at that.] No kidding? I don't think I'd drive around in something called a Cabbage Car.

Who would?! They're cheaper and smaller then Satomobiles anyway. But what I like to go around in when I'm not racing is a Future Industries moped.

Oh man, really? I don't think I've seen a moped actually driven around before. They're pretty much out of style in my world.

[Or maybe that's just not all that useful in New York City. He can't tell.]

Really? Why's that? They're pretty convenient.

We're stocked up to the neck in-- [He really wants to just say cars, but...] --automobiles. You should see the traffic.

Besides, if you want something like a moped, people usually go around on motorcycles. Or take the subway or bus if you just wanna skip out on driving altogether.

...You have am at a disadvantage again. I don't know what a "bus" or a "subway" is. In Republic City if you can't afford your own automobile, most people take taxis or ride the trolley system. Trains going out of Central Station used to be a major method until Satomobiles became more affordable too.

Subways are like underground trains, and we have taxis too. And buses are like big taxis for more people at once. But the whole traffic thing is a huge problem.

So a bus works a little like a trolley, then. [Huh, okay, she's getting it! And an underground train would really save space too... Earthbenders in her world should look into doing that. Hmhm] If there's that many people, I can see how it would be.

Exactly! [She catches on fast, and Peter can dig that.] It's such a huge problem, I'm always running late for school.

[Not that it has anything to do with the traffic. Sometimes it's just helicopters that get in his way.]

If it's that bad, why haven't city planners or local industrialists done something about it?

Who knows. Sometimes it just works out on its own, so long as your get around the whole rush hour thing. You get used to it, despite it being crowded. It's just how home is.

Maybe they are working on it and I don't know about it, I've been busy since last summer. [Being a superhero.] With school.

I think I know what you mean. Republic City's crowded too - not... deadlocked, the way you're describing this, but enough that during the height of the day you get used to driving creatively.

Well I can manage it. Don't worry, I've only crashed... a few times. Mostly near-misses.
