[There's a really good question that Peter needs to ask himself. What bad guy hit him hard enough to knock him out and throw him all the way into Central Park? Trees and grass shouldn't have hurt so hard to make his back hurt. Okay, maybe trees. But still, it wasn't like he was slammed into another brick wall. No, it was just a really dense looking forest that definitely didn't look like it would be Central Park. That's weird. Maybe Mysterio had something to do with this. Not sure how the guy could get the jump on him like this, though.

But it seemed like he was at least hit hard enough that his clothes were knocked off. How can you even hit a guy in a skin tight costume that hard? Well, it explains how he would have gotten to a place with a ton of trees. Not good. He might actually be injured now--

[After figuring some things out and realizing that the journal actually... talks, Peter can be seen walking into the village while wearing the New Feather pants. While wandering aimlessly and looking worried, he's flipping through his journal until he figures out how to use it.]

This on? [Seems like it.] Quick show of hands. Who else is creeped out by the talking book?

[Yeah. Let's keep wandering around this weird village until someone helps him, or he finds someone he recognizes. He hope everyone is alright.]

... I can see how that could be a problem. [He can't disagree with the lack of friends and family, but after everything Peter's heard, he doesn't need Aunt May to suddenly show up and have another heart attack from this place adding stress onto her. It'd be like hell.

That's too morbid to think about.] Uh-- Not much in the technology department, huh? Kind of like living in the past. [Let's just mosey on inside the bakery now.]

Kind of, yeah. I've heard it used to be worse, but I've only been here for a couple of months, so I can't vouch for that theory.

[Yay, bakery! Let's get some lunch, there are hungry teenagers afoot.]

Worse. [Peter doesn't like the sound of that, enough to repeat it under his breath.] I guess I'll find out for myself, huh?

[Okay. Peter has no idea what this bakery even has, or how to take food or what not. He's way too new for this complicated "free" thing!]

Sooner or later, yeah.

[Once Billy gets himself a sub and something to drink he finds a table for them, waiting for Peter to follow suit. Free food! Awesome, yes?]

[Peter grabs... well, a kind of small cheese sandwich. He feels weird not paying for anything, and grabs the smallest thing he sees because of it. Don't worry, he'll get over the guilt.

Over to the seat.] This feels so wrong, you have no idea. [It's like stealing.]

Trust me, your fellow crimefighter understands completely. You get used to it, though- especially after seeing everyone else do it and never getting arrested.

It's going to take a lot more than just getting used to it, I think. [He's accidentally stolen something before, after all. Now it's almost like it's on purpose.]

Right, what you said. [He lifts the sandwich with a playful grin and digs in. LUNCH WITH SPIDERMAN, try not to spazz out, B.]

[It's hesitant at first, but Peter starts to eat. And when he realizes that this sandwich is good, he feels like he can let himself deal with the whole free thing later. Food first.]

Okay, okay. Maybe I can live with this. [It's not Aunt May's cooking, but it's good.]

See? Like I said, give it some time. And this place is amazing, too. You can meet all kinds of really incredible people!

[Some of that enthusiasm is seeping back in. He'd apologize for being a spazz, but sometimes you just can't help it, man.]

Incredible people? [Peter's thinking of crazy looking aliens, since the whole otherwordly thing is still sinking in.] Like who?

Well, some of the Avengers are here, for one. Though you'll probably end up meeting them as Spiderman. ...Are you gonna do that here, by the way?

[Avengers? He'll ask about that later. Doesn't matter, because there was a more important question asked.]

Yeah. It wouldn't make much sense if I tried to squeeze by without it. I mean, if I ran into a bit of trouble, I'd probably fall back on it anyway.

I know how you feel- I was kind of the same way myself when I first got here. Though I've never kept my identity as secret as you, so...

[He shrugs; maybe he should be more careful about it, but considering he doesn't even bother with a mask? Yeah. Seems silly.]

You tried keeping everything on the down-low? [Peter can see why.] It's just easier in the long run.

It's not as bad here- coming out as a super, I mean. It's easier when no one from your world is here, though.

Probably right on that. [Peter stares at his partially eaten sandwich for a moment.]... But isn't there a chance someone might show up here? From your world, I mean. Someone dangerous.

What, like... a supervillain or something? Honestly I'd be surprised if they even recognized me. The only well-known bad guys I've fought are Kang and the Shocker. Oh, and Electro- sort of.

Something like that-- [Wait. Wait. Wait.] You fought both Electro and the Shocker? And they're both well-known?

Yeah, they've been around for years. ...Oh, right, they're your guys, aren't they? Originally, I mean.

[From the future. Right.] Yeah, I might have had a helping hand in... making them villains.

I didn't think they'd still be around years from now.

Well... super villains. They're kinda like roaches, you just can't get rid of them.

That sounds more annoying than anything else. But I guess we just keep 'em in check, huh?

Yeah, it keeps us busy. Which isn't really a good thing, but... I don't know what I'd do with my abilities if there was no one to fight. It would be kind of a waste.

A good waste, though. [That's how he feels, anyway. What with his friends almost always in danger. Every week it's something else.] Still, I do love kicking bad guy butt as much as the next guy.
